It basically means that the local team have a "psycological" advantage as they are not getting booed all the time and have all of their fans around, also they are probably more familiar with the stadium and therefore the type of turf/ground they will be playing on.

No reason not to be postive I use to tease my wife when she would ask me how Colombia was doing I would tell her that they were getting their butt kicked. After a real dirty look I decided no more teasing, only pro Colombia soccer talk now keeps me out of trouble.... I heard they tied with Chile 0-0 but Colombia is not doing to good everyone is ahead of them point wise....
