Colombia Vonage & VOIP in Colombia

Hola!

I discovered a great way to use Vonage in Colombia without having to use your Vonage box. They sell a 256 Meg memory stick and charge you $40. I saw they have the software you can download onto your memory card FREE! GET THE FREE VERSION on you USB stick!

I saved it to my USB SD card. I installed it to Vonage Talk subdirectory. Copy the Vonage Talk icon to your desktop to make it easy. Disconnect it and then carry with you to call for free, even at work! It opens fine. Just Use your SignOn name and password when you have high speed internet.

I use 12Voip & SMSDiscount to call Colombia for FREE, but if you already paid for your Vonage, its your chance to see how a VOIP telephone service works before you look for a cheaper VOIP to make your calls. I plan to carry 12Voip & SMSDiscount on my USB SD card!

In reading their site. I see something about a fee every three months. How much is this? Also it states that you can call up to 300 minutes per week to their free destinations. What is the rate after that? The site does not list it.

Also, can you use this with a voip handset or do you have to use a headset?

I have been using their service for 2.5 years, since visiting CasaViena in Cartagena. They have the service on their internet cafe computers to call home.

You get to make 5 hours of landline calls to Colombia for free each week after you set up a 5 or 10 Euro balance. 12 Voip says give them 10 and SMSDiscount allows 5 or 10 Euros. 12 Voip allows 3 months free calling and SMSDiscount allows 2 - 4 months depending on the amount of balance set up. Then, after that FREE period your balance is used to make phone calls for .02 Euros to .03 Euros a minute.

YES! You can setup your VOIP SIP Phone using their account. My XO laptop with Linux is using my Twinkle Linux based Voip Client program, since the software versions you can download are based on Windows only.

I called Colombia from Washington, DC for free using my little XO laptop last month! I am now waiting to call Colombia from Avianca's business lounge! HeHe!
