Colombia Vive

This weekend I watched a 4 hour video titled Colombia Vive!. It is a documentary about 25 years of resistance by the Colombian people. The video is all Spanish with no subtitles, but if you don't speak Spanish watch it anyway. You will understand most of what is presented. One of the things that moved me in watching the documentary was not only the resistance but the resilience of the Colombian people. Colombians do not quit or walk away or just give up like many other countries…most notably some European countries at the beginning of WWll. The Colombians never lost their pride or the notion that in the end groups like farc will not win. It makes you feel proud to be here.

When I wacthed one of the peace marches recently held in Armenia you could see on the faces of the many that peace will be the only outcome of this mess. You could have a hundred marulanda's and it won't get these people to stop fighting for peace.
