Colombia Vacation Destinatons

There are so many places to visit in Colombia , Last year I took two vacations in Colombia , I have been to Cartagena , San Andres and Isla Palma.

I want to experience a bit more then just the Coastline ,
I was wondedring what the Colombian Amazons are like , is it safe for Gringo's there.?.

I also want to make a visit to Gorgona , Has anyone from here been there?

I have heard a lot of good things about Nuqui and a friend just got back saying the Hotel Food and Beaches were great , very natural.

I would really like to visit Marpelo but most trips seem to be very expensive .?. Does anyone know of a Low cost Colombian Dive Boat that runs to Marpelo.?.

Thanks....SPECTRA...

I've been in Leticia for a month now and may stay up to six more. Yes, it is very safe for gringos here. Guerilla, paras aren't anywhere around. There are coastguard (river) police, and several army factors in the city. You can't get in or out except by plane or boat, where would they escape to? All this not to mention the peruvian and brazilian forces in the area. As far as local crime, I haven't seen it at all. Everyday I go to the library and leave my bike outside completely unnattended. Four hours later, there it is untouched. I wouldn't do this in any other city in colombia. Someone complained that there are a lot of motos here and to be careful. No shit, where would you go in a car? And as far as the motos are concerned, they usually go very slow and tend not to drive like maniacs like the other cities. It is the only city I don't get scared in when my wife leaves on her bike.
I've been in the technically "poor" neighborhoods and they are an absolute delight to walk through. Depending on the time of year you come, you can either walk through them, or canoe 'em since they would be under 8 feet of water. I jog twice a week in the middle of nowhere where I could easily be robbed or disappear. Nothing but friendly faces. The only negative, people wise I noticed is how the guys treat the ladies. I never heard the catcalls and whistles so loud as here. Women have told me likewise. In other cities, they tend to touch more, but here, I think its just all hot air.
Hotel Anaconda has good tours, but the tour director is about as inept as they come. I've done a lot of stuff here at a very low cost, just because I asked a native indigenite about a place. They invite me to go along, so I do. Same thing Anaconda charges 90,000 pesos for.
