Colombia segun Jose Obdulio

A very interesting article on Jose Obdulio Gaviria's poorly covered tour around the US. I think he deserves and A for imaginative effort. The guy is either on medication ( drugs) or a shameless liar (or both).
Revista Cambio has analysed some of his truly funny statements...if this is how the most senior presidential advisor sees the country (rolls eyes)...

Jack Jackson, what NGO are we talking about? There are tons and I am sure an educated man like you knows better than to put them all in the same category. I do not believe however, Jose Obdulio has said anything about NGOs in this article. The man is a delusional POS, an opportunist, and a crook. Shame on Uribe for hiring Pablo Ecsobar's cousin, friend and lawyer as presidential advisor. No wonder democrats are so skeptical...

That's the problem, there's too many people hiding under NGO umbrella who want nothing good for Colombia and couldn't care less about its people, only about their braindead agenda. It's about time those get kicked out of the country so that those who are really willing to help (as opposed to help the FARC) can regain the credibility and respect they truly deserve. Or is this too much of a wishful thinking?

I´d say that´s more like warped, baseless thinking that mimicks the styile of Obdulio ... who are these FARC supporting NGOs? Can you name them specifically? If so, is it enough to be able to claim that these supposed FARC sympathizing NGOs are the true reason Colombia is struggling to make real improvements?

CK, I read that article earlier today in el Cambio and thought about posting it. I was feeling too lazy to translate the general idea what he was saying ( it's pretty incredible stuff) . I didn't really know about José Obdulio's background and I was wondering what does Uribe have to gain having a deranged individual like him as a councillor.

See, it's hard to argue with CK because she backs up her comments with cogent thoughts and analysis, and although she genarally posts from a leftist point of view, it is always nuanced and takes into account POVs that are different from hers. Pobrecito, you (and desi and my good friend romy) should read some of her posts and learn to back up your comments. Having said that, CK is almost always wrong :))
