Remember a short time ago when Dubbers Bush was in Colombia and they had to build a Bubble around him due to SEcurity/ Probably the same reason they decided to honor Clinton in NYC, security much easier to plan for,,,Would should be interesting are what Colombians, other then Shakira, Pastrana are invited as Guests,,,

Since Colombia is doing so well economically these days, maybe its time to free up some some those Billions earmarked for Plan Colombia for use here in the USA as they are needed and Plan Col was not meant to continue indefinetely.

On Sept 17, 2008: Senator John McCain said, as he had many times before, that he believed the fundamentals of the economy were "strong."Hours later he backpedaled, explaining that he had meant that American workers were Strong.

Don't forget Hillary Being in NYC can't hurt Hillary and her run for President. And who would the elite of Colombia like to see elected of the democratic hopefuls? After GWB has screwed things up so bad a democrat almost is a shoe-in for the next presidency. Colombia is hedging their bets with this political publicity stunt.

JMCana Are you yet in Colombia?
I think the American (north, of course) public is not so geared into parties anymore, as much as they are the person, and you can't blame the person and reflect it on the party so much. Those are just things to keep the USA from gettin too far one way or the other. And, some will say, it ain't workin.

I'm fairly apolitical, as far as the presidential election goes here, but I wouldn't bet against either Giuliani and some say that other Romni or whatever his name is has a pretty good chance. I think the American, north of course, people will give alot of credit, faith, and hope in Giuliani, ... if only because of his handling of the 911 episode.

Sorry, Hillary. But the USA is not ready for a woman president, and most especially one of your bitchiness and attitude. She would lead us further down the long and winding road of destruction, I think.

And, then I would have to be....

Voy por del Sur...por siempre.

Tinto....'because that is where the Democrats will be...?' Wasn't it the Dem's that swore off the meeting with Alvaro Uribe a month ago in Miami? It's funny, now so quickly, that the Colombians would be kissing up to them all over again, so fast, eh?

Various quotes:
"They're shelling out $40,000 a month to the Glover Park Group, a PR and lobbying firm packed with Clintonites, to push for a US-Colombia free trade agreement that has been widely criticized by Democratic members of Congress."

"And President Alvaro Uribe has also brought on board the PR firm Burson-Marsteller, run by Hillary's chief strategist, Mark Penn, to "educate members of the US Congress""

"Not only is Hillary more reliant on large donations and corporate money than her Democratic rivals, but advisers in her inner circle are closely affiliated with unionbusters, GOP operatives, conservative media and other Democratic Party antagonists."
