Here is a company that seems to offer a limited range of Colombia maps for Garmin GPS units:

larryrn says on May 23, 2009, 05:37: I bought a www.findercolombia.com last year for 999,000 which I found to be the best option for Colombia (the current price is 699,000) - and I am impressed at the frequency of software updates. I get updates every couple of weeks which contain current updates for one-way streets, restaurants and bars. last month they came out with a bunch of updates for many of the small towns including detailed maps of Monteria (where I spend a lot of time). I went to Barranquilla and we picked many restaurants and hotels based on the GPS. Twenty five years ago you probobly said I don´t need no stinkin´computer, I´ll just head off to the library and read the World Book Encyclopedia. https://sites.google.com/site/colombianaturesite/nature-images 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

rjstuff says on May 24, 2009, 11:15: Ok - I am a novice or ignorant as far as GPS is concerned. If I buy a GPS unit here (I have ordered a Megallen 4250 today) can I then use it in Colombia by buying a map from one of these vendors? Or do I buy a CD or something from these people and load it on the unit? How is it done? Thanks for explaining and yes I owe you a couple Aguilla or Aguardiantes (or both).
