Hi, I'm going to visit Colombia for about two weeks in July and just wanted to get some advice about where to go. I'll be landing in Cartagena and leaving from Bogota, so I was thinking of maybe travelling down through Medellin and the Zona Cafeteria. I'm planning on travelling by bus, but only during the daytime and was wondering if there's a good point between Cartagena and Medellin to break up the trip? I'd like to avoid bus trips longer than 8 hrs if possible. Also, would it be safe to go all the way from Cartagena down to San Augustin by bus? Thanks for your advice!

From what I have seen of Colombia so far, it is my choice as a place to live. Bus from Cartagena to Baranquilla is 1.5 to 2 hours. From Baranquilla to Bucaramanga is about 10 hours. I'm not sure about the ride from Bucarmanga to Bogota, but I think that it would be less than 6 hours.

To San Augustin from Cartagena by bus?? Man, that's a LOT of time on a bus but if you don't care, travel by day, and take one of the luxury buses a good make that great way to see the country, "Bene, cum Latine nescias, nolo manus meas in te maculare" . 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
