Colombia, Honduras square off on soccer field

Broward Florida

Lockhart Stadium's intimate confines are expected to be pushed to the limit tonight for an international soccer friendly between Honduras and Colombia.

Advance sales for the match have been strong, and promoters are expecting a sellout of the 20,000-seat venue.

Both teams will have their full rosters for what is one of the last opportunities to prepare for this summer's World Cup qualifying matches.

Honduras coach Reynaldo Rueda, who is Colombian, has called seven foreign-based players, including Inter Milan striker David Suazo and Genoa midfielder Julio Cesar León, who is better known as "Rambo."

"Both teams will have their full rosters"
not true, let's say 90%. Namely the best Colombian striker Falcao and the best Colombian defender Mosquera. Also missing is Ferreira but I guess he's not an undisputed starter. Not too familiar with Honduras but I know they have a couple of players missing.
Too bad this game won't be broadcatsed..
Today I'll watch Argentina v. Egypt
and if I can get enough work done head downtown to watch England v. France
Anybody else watching any footy today?

Miamimike, I think he already know about the place. Its in Hollywood, right?

miamimike says on Mar 26, 2008, 12:30:

Morphus, No-the place I am speaking of is way out in the area of SW 8 st(or calle 8 as its known in Miami) probably 20 minutes due west of Little Havana( which is between 5 ave and 27th ave on calle 8 in miami). There are a few new places in Hollywood but I haven't been to them. You have a huge Colombian population residing in the area of Kendall where this place is located. I never mention the name as who needs the competition? LOL

Lost 2-1 to the coach we just got rid of. Kind of embarrassing. I guess people can feel better because of the fact that it was just a friendly.

yeah it will be nice to see colombia qualify for south africa in 2010, they havent qualified since 1998 when i remember a becks free kick against then...i only found out that FIFA were apparently planning to bring the world cup in 1986 posible to colombia when mexico stepped in at the last moment.....wouldnt it be great for the country to have this in 2014 instead of brasil ?

maybe, la seleccion colombia needs to play every game in bogota above 2800 metres, everyone knows bolivia or ecuador gain an advantage by playing at altitude in theier home games and then always lose all away games in qualifiers...

i like the young short player from atletico nacional but i cant recall his name, really lively.

anyway, im off to the new wembley this sunday for 1st time.

They already tried it was one of Uribe's media stunts. It never had any chance though.

Wouldn't work cause most players don't play their club football at altitude. Ecuador's success happened when most of their players played for Quito clubs so they were used to it. By the way there is a fairly big debate going on right now as FIFA doesn't want to let Bolivia play their games in La Paz. There was a charity match that involved Evo Morales and Diego Maradona.

Probably Juan Camilo Zuniga, who's their best player. Should b the starter fr the nt at right back.

Colombian soccer players need to be put on vacation for two weeks and without pay every time they lose, even if the game is a mere friendly match! They need to start learning to play to win!!

Yep, if they can't or don't want to play to WIN they need to withdraw from FIFA and the rest of the soccer tournaments.

Ok parce, pero a mi nunca me ha gustado que Colombia pierda muy frecuentemente y mas todavia cuando pierden esos partidos amigables, y despues dicen que perdieron porque era un partido amigable o porque no estaba tal jugador o jugadores!
Colombian soccer players need to play well and have the mentality to win at all times, they need to follow Brazil and Argentina when they play and even on friendly games.
