mranderson says on Nov 6, 2004, 18:48: Im here Ok it looks like for some reason my last post didnt work. Well I have been in medellin for a few days now. When My plane first landed in colombia I was scared as shit. I walked off the plane and there wasnt an english word anywhere. I was handed immigration form and baggage form and had no idea what to do. Luckily for me there was a guy in front of me that spoke english and he helped me. Then after I got my bag from baggage claim and went through the security I walked outside. That was very scary. There were many people out there waiting. I was so scared that my friend that I never met before would not be there. But she was and she was very easy to find because she was holding a sign with my name on it. Even though it was night and dark the ride to the city was incredible. We stopped at a spot that overlooked medellin. Within the next couple days I have met several people and been all over the city. Of course I was scared for my safety but the people here are friendly and I feel safe here. It is quite different than anything I have ever seen before. There are so many motorcycles and they are so crazy. the traffic is always a mess and there seems to be no law for the road. I think now I understand why it is so hard to leave this place. The women and the music are incredible. And the way they dance....holy crap. Ive never seen anything like it. My friend said its the blood of the latin people. Medellin is a great city.

phishrox says on Nov 7, 2004, 06:09: Colombia here I come... For many years I have dreamed of traveling to Colombia and at last the time has come!!!! Nov. 16th will be my FIRST trip there and I am TOTALLY EXCITED !!! My visit will be for only 10 days on this trip but I know I will love it there so much that I will find someway to return as soon as possible and stay longer. The reason for now going after all those years of dreaming is a WONDERFUL woman I met on-line that lives in Medellin. Her english is about as good as my spanish so if nothing else we will speak only the words of love !!!! Yesterday I was filled with feelings of apprehension....I found this site this morning and now those feelings are all but gone !!! Thank you all for relieving me of any fears I had !!!
