In cesar region and in Maicao people sell Venezuela gas in the barrios.
As the buy the gas in Venezuela for 400 to 600 pesos a gallon.
If you ever drive through La Paz , Colombia , you always see 20 or more people on the side of
the road with cans and hoses, these are gas pimps.

In the barrios in Valledupar and other
Cesar towns you will see 1 1/4 litter coke bottles filled with a orange red liquid resembling the color of gas sitting in front of houses, this it to let people know they sale gas at these houses.
Almost all the taxis fill up at these houses and lots of buses go to La Paz to fill up.

Gas pimps make more money than most as the get 3x times their money for their investment, but also must pay Vaccunas to the police.( if not the police take the gas and sale it to other pimps )

You just reach out of Santa Marta, after Parque Tayrona, to Guachaca and they sell gas there.

In Santa Marta, they sell gas on the calle 22, but I never tried it. I doubt that it is good.
Anyway, my car moves on natural gas.

Santa Marta sells it for 2 mil for 1 1/4 liter bottles. Also Santa Marta pimps are hose rats who
steal from cars parked at Rodadero and at the super Mercados. Those so called Security guards , at the Super Market parking lot entrances work hand in hand alot of times with hose rats.( manguera ratons )

They put it in a half ass flimsy type of tank in the back and cover it up with a camper shell. And Presto, an Intsant rolling Mobeile gas Station a la orden,,,

It might be fine, its probably gasoline purchased from Ven in Santa Marta and smuggled over the border due to the cheap gasoline in Ven.

But to smuggle to Santa Marta is a bit different. There is the DIAN reten en el trompito, before the peaje.
And then road police again, after the peaje. And you may get antinarcotics before the turn to Bonda. And again the army en el 11 Noviembre.
Not easy.

I'd think like DD suggests that it is also stolen from tanks in Santa Marta.
Also, the price there is not worth the risk of putting some shit in your tank.
