I looked to see if there was already a thread on the game but I didn't see one so here goes.
It was lovely seeing the Mexicans lose even though it wasn't their complete A team. I thought Vladimir Marin, now playing for Toluca of the Mexican league, played very well. In view of Hugo Rodallega's giant killer of a PK for Wigan against Chelsea, I thought it was ironic to see Colombia miss a PK tonight. It was also nice to see Carlos Darwin Quintero (of Mexican club Santos Laguna) get the last 12 minutes of regulation time which was enough for him to score the game winning goal. Maybe his idiot coach will give him an extra 10 or 20 minutes in a game that counts. I doubt it though. Eduardo Lara displays no more sense than Maradona does with Argentina.

utopiacowboy says on Sep 30, 2009, 22:14: Colombia played well but their forwards seem to lack a certain toughness. Marin at midfield didn't back down one inch - I like the way he plays. He created a corner kick with a powerful shot on goal, then took the resulting corner kick that led to the first goal. The guy was all over the place causing havoc for the Mexicans. Rodallega stayed in England and was not on the bench. Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult. 1 funny, 0 helpful. |
