Coffee

I have a question concerning a coffee shop Im not sure but i think its a franchise.
The fact is i like drinking coffee, especially colombian coffee.
I'm not really a fan of Starbucks.
Anyway, I have heard that there is a coffee shop that serves colombian coffee called Juan Valdez.
Does anyone know anything about this shop/franchise? Has anyone ever visitesd their shop and tried the coffee?Better yet does anyone know of a Juan Valdez located in Arizona?

Juan Valdez Coffee Shops You're right, there's a chain of coffee shops called "Juan Valdez". I've read that they're offering franchise opportunities but I don't know how you could contact them, just go to their website
http://www.juanvaldez.com/

Truth is Starbucks Receives Some Of Colombia's Best Coffee What is different is the Method of Preparation and the Grind of the Beans. Starbucks doesn't prepare Tinto here in the USA so the Strength is different. Hard to compare the two,,,Starbucks and Juan Valdez coffee. I buy my Colombian Coffee Beans on eBay and grind them myself-lots of sellers(small roasters)who sell on eBay!

On Sept 17, 2008: Senator John McCain said, as he had many times before, that he believed the fundamentals of the economy were "strong."Hours later he backpedaled, explaining that he had meant that American workers were Strong.

Lots on the site about JVC We've written pages about it, some people love it, others don't. I unfortunately fall into the latter category.

starbucks well i do know that starbucks sells colombian coffee to the public in bags or in bean form but i was told by a person working for starbucks that most of the coffee they serve to the walk in custom er is not colombian coffee but a starbuck blemd.
im looking for a coffee shop i could walk into sit down and have a reall 100% cup of colombian coffee without them calling it the house blens or whatever other name. i want the real thing.

juan valdez you never heard of Juan Valdez or the Juan Valdez coffee chain or a Juan Valdez in Arizona?
I know they have them all over Colombia Cali, Bogota, Medillin, etc and their website says they are expanding world wide. Somewhere i heard they had one in New York and one in Washington DC.
I waas hoping they had one in AZ or at least had plans to open some up here.
I sent them an email asking if they had one here or if they had plans to open one here, i havent heard back from them as of yet.

whome I imagine by now, you have done the coffee search here on PBH, as there surely have been more than a few caffeinated threads on the subject. I don't know much about coffee, as some do here, except I can't remember a day without a cup (or 3.) I don't know if they ship to the states or not, but next time you're in Colombia, may I suggest you try some 'Quindo' Brand, Special Reserve or Select Primo, whatever.

Why Colombianitas? Personally... I just don't like pink areolar tissue.

Juan Valdez? is Starbucks under a different name? is what you meant, DG? 'cause I'm pretty sure you weren't referring to Quindio. But, a little misleading to whome who may not know.

WHOME--ON Starbucks Look at the Bag it should tell you the country of origin and if its a blend. That guy who told you that Starbucks was a blend is only partially correct as Starbucks sells many Blends and Single(country) Origin Beans. I was in Target last night and they carried the Colombia Nariño(Supremo) Roast. This is a single bean coffee not a blend. Like I say, I pass on a lot of this store sold stuff as I grind my own and brew it within 15 minutes, actually immediately. And I don't have to Lug the coffee all the way home from Colombia. Not to mention its expensive and I do much better on eBay and its from Colombian Roasters. Again, here in the US, Starbucks doen't brew Tinto strength coffee so its unfair to even compare the taste.
