CNN should be ashamed...

I can't believe they are reporting in this way. I am watching Anderson Cooper and they are doing a report on the Cocaine Kingdom. Yes, they are talking about Colombia and "it's number one crop- cocaine." More negative press. Of course, drugs are an issue and I am not one of those who believe that Colombia is not without its flaws. But, man, why the sensationalist reporting?

Jay, maybe it's another slow news day and, Colombia/cocaine is for sure, good 'filler' news. ??? You think? I almost doubt it, at this point. Didn't someone state some truth in another thread? Am I mislead? or, no. Isn't the number one most abused drug in America at this point methedrine, or some variation thereof? I have to admit ignorance at this point in time.

Why Colombianitas? Personally... I just don't like pink areolar tissue.

typical left This is the typical left wing media, always negative news about Colombia. People who have never been to Colombia or who have never taken the time to really research Colombia must surely think it is a country from hell. Why? because the media especially the left wing such as CNN and MSNBC never report news on Colombia unless it is negative, You are correct jay1234 CNN should be ashamed.

I find The Extreme Right Wing Miami Nuevo Herald Reporting the same as the CNN on Colombia as well as the rest of the Carribbean and South/Central America and Mexico. Rarely are both sides of the story(whether I agree with it or not)presented in a fair objective manner where the Reader can read both sides of the story and then make his/her own decision. Not possible with the Nuevo Herald for fear of offending the extreme right wing Cubans who control the paper. Disgraceful Journalistic Pandering,,,Thank God for the Internet and Shortwave Radio,,,Sad Truth, many Americans do seek News sources out of the country but rely on domestic news sources and then complain when they receive Filtered Opinionated "Canned" news,,,LOL

I do have to give the Herald Credit for a Positive, albeit a cursory news story on Bogota a few weeks ago. That was shock but sadly I can imagine another similiar one won't be around until Haley's Comet appears in the skies over Miami again,,,

On Sept 17, 2008: Senator John McCain said, as he had many times before, that he believed the fundamentals of the economy were "strong."Hours later he backpedaled, explaining that he had meant that American workers were Strong.

Shock and Horror sells. People don't want to tune into the news to hear about someone helping an old woman when she falls down. Instead, they want to report that some asshole in NY assaulted and mugged a 101 yr. old woman. Oh yeah, it was caught on tape...Even better! The media is a bunch of one-track-minded assholes!

BTW, I think that if they catch the guy who did this, he should be shot! The paragraph above is sadly non-fiction. Happened two days ago as the woman was leaving for church.

really MM you mean there is a right wing paper somewhere in this country, wow, i thought just about every paper was very left wing. I know the so called big papers are very left wing, NY Times, Boston Globe, Los Angeles Times, etc. Its refreshing to know that some where some one has actually got a right wing paper so they can recieve some balance and hear the other side of the story.

Allow me to Explain......WHY !! CNN
1. Anti Bush
2. Anti Conservative

Uribe

1. Pro Bush
2. Very Pro Bush

Translation:

1. CNN will continue to portray Colombia poorly
2. CNN will associate Drugs, guerillas, and violence with Colombia

Comment:
Anything or anyone directly or indirectly within the Bush camp is going to get eaten alive.

BTW The BBC does the exact same thing.

Suggestion:
Watch FNC (Fox News Channel)

During Bush's stay, they did a very nice segment on Colombia. That is true even though one of their reporters was inadvertently gassed. On the other hand, FNC has been doing quite a bit of coverage on Chavez and the situation in Venezuela. Geraldo Rivera spent three days there. He reported nothing positive. (He could have mentioned the Venezolanas) They easil rival the Colombianas. Anyway, if you like fascism and a socialistic economy, I suppose Chavez would be fine with you.

Me Thinks:
Don't expect any change from CNN any time soon. It's not happening.

Yeah, Scotty... I'd love to run across the asshole myself...Poor bastard would be screamin to be arrested! He'd damn sure be crippled for life. I can't see how anyone could be capable of such an act. That doesn't even qualify as immoral! Give me or anyone else with a grandmother/great-grandomother five minutes with that asshole. It would be over well within five minutes!

BTW, he assaulted another elder woman the same day. She was much younger...84! WTF?! Between the two women, he got less than $100! $100 isn't worth shit in NY! It isn't worth shit where I am in the South! POS! That's all that I have to say 'bout it!
