Sorry but in my view not many Jap cars are Classics ,yes they are reliable & do their job but I think the last classic Jap car would be a Datsun 240/260 Z good luck.

Ahhh, the thing that later morphed into the Nissan Sentra. Plus yours was made in South Africa.

That is about a 700 dollar car.

Flatline do you know if there is such a thing as a blue book for the used car value for Colombia?

Rocco,

I do not know, I will ask my dad.

From what I know is people tend to assign a value that is inherently higher to a car than it is really worth.

the datsun 300/280 could be considered a classic. people still buy them and trick them out and set them up for drag racing in the US and in Colombia.
the 160y is not bad looking from what i saw in google.

Stocktrader

I would be more concerned on how stock the car was, because in Colombia getting parts for a car made in South Africa is none too easy. And so over the years to keep it running I am sure Colombian mechanics have done their typical tricks to it.

For four million pesos I would buy an old Suzuki jeep if I were looking for a daily driver that I could still source parts for reliably.

I think generally car values are more or less set by the Government as they make you pay Tax on the car value every year if you buy the Car trader mags they have the values of most cars from about 1995 on .
But like you say most people put high prices when I was selling my 1995 Mazda 323 SW (station Wagon ) they all wanted it for nothing I was asking 10.5 million which was cheap at the time all they wanted to give was 8.million told them to take a walk I've seen others not as good asking more.
Good cheap car for me is the Renault 12 estate/station Wagon & the 4 also high up cheap & reliable Renault made a mistake here because normally Renaults are crap in my opinion too fragile & go wrong a lot.

Renault left the US because they were too crappy and did not want to abide by safety standards.

I remember the Renault GTA in the 1980s, horrible car, worse than the Hyundai Excel.
