Ciudad Perdida / San Agustin

Hola a todos!

Has anyone done the trek from Santa Marta to the Ciudad Perdida in the last month? Did you notice or hear about a rise in guerilla activity in the area or had any near misses with guerillas?

Also - To get to San Agustin.
A Calena friend in London told me that the best way to get there was to go directly from Bogota straight down the carretera through Neiva and not to go there from Popayan at all. Is this good advice?

Gracias!

Pitalito and San Agustin Well, yeah, your friend is right, although is a long journey, about 12 hours from Bogota, it's better now to go directly to Pitalito and then continue the next day to San Agustin.

Gracias ColombiaBoard! Has hecho el viaje por casualidad? Quizas mejor coger el avion hasta Neiva y luego por carretera. Siempre si no me pasa nada yendo a la ciudad perdida.
