As some of you may know, I am hoping to come and live in Colombia in the future. My wife and I want to live in Santander (where she is from) probably in La Mesa de Los Santos, about an hour or so drive from Bucaramanga. For me this is ideal as I can enjoy the peace and tranquility of the country and my finca but with all the amenities of a big city only an hour away.
My question is, among the PBHers out there, do people prefer the city or the countyside to live in?
Bill - I guess I know what your answer will be!

However, she does not trust other Colombianas like her sisters for example...jejeje. I love it! She is excellent company anyway. We have so little traffic that Wrinkles runs to the gate if he hears a car on the road, and that is less than once a day. We are at the end of the drivable road, even though the municiple road continues around my lot is is NOT passable by even 4WD when it is rainy season. It is used by pack animals and pedestrians only Mr. Bill Somondoco 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

barrumundi says on Jul 13, 2009, 19:16: Yes Bill. Our farm is also up in the hills away from main roads. The local roads are a bit tricky after the rain and a 4wd is necessary but that adds to the isolation (which can be a good thing). All you hear all day is the wind in the trees and the birds. We love it. It's good to hit the shops and maybe see a movie at Centro Chia now and then, but it is great to get back home again to the peace and quiet. http://poorbuthappy.com/yourthing/post/uploading-photos-for-dummies/ 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
