Christmas Trees (real or artificial)

My daughter, the spoiled love of my life, wants a Christmas Tree this year. She lives in Bello, Medellin and I live in St. Thomas, US VI.

My daughter has never seen or known a US Christmas but wants a Christmas tree.

I really would like her to have the tree and would like to know if anyone can help me with a mail order company that might deliver this artificial tree to Colombia. If not, does anyone know the demensions the US post office will deliver to Colombia.

I usually use Iquiero but they do not have christmas trees.

Thank you and I hope someone out there can help.

There are christmas trees in Colombia! Christmas trees in Colombia are very popular, almost everybody in big cities have them as well as the "pesebre"
You don't have to send it from the US, in fact there are a lot of stores that sell christmas trees in Colombia (Exito, Carrefour, etc.) Just send her the money to buy one, about $100 Us.

Home Center Has Christmas Trees & Decorations Home Center - is in Medellin - Poblado and is very similar to The Home Depot in the States. It is just as large as The Home Depot and probably offers more variety then The Home Depot. They have very nice catalogs and you can order anything you need off their website. They deliver and should be able to get your daughter a beautiful Christmas Tree. Their website is:

www.sodimac.com

When looking up Christmas trees, type in arbols and 26 products for arboles de navidad will apppear. They are a large company with stores in several countries in South America. They have 6 stores in Colombia including one in Medellin and if you do not see what you are looking for, they can probably special order it for you.

Happy Holidays!!!

Brad216, thanks for getting back.... Thank you for getting back so soon but it is not a matter of sending money, wife has the credit card for anything she wants to get.
I said my daughter wants it, I did not say my wife wanted to get it. In Niquia they are close enough drag the tree back to the house....

I usually buy things through Iquiero or floresta estado or (something like that) but none seem to have at this time.

Another option is to pay for it from the states and have grandma arrange to have it delivered.

If you know any other way, please let me know and thank you for getting back to me.

www.sodimac.com EMAN, Have you been able to use the web for shipment in Colombia. I tried to order the Christmas Tree from the site but it would not let me establish a log-in with a colombia address. This is a Chile company with stores in Colombia.???

Did you see there 52 page Christmas Catalog On their main web page, www.sodimac.com has a Navidad Catalogo Tiempo de Magia, it has 52 pages of ornaments, decorations, lights, toys, and Christmas trees. The Home Centers are gigantic and have a great variety of Christmas items and I am sure if you do not see it in the catalog, they can still get it for you.

I wish you and your family a happy holiday!

I have never gotten anything like that online but have you considered Mercadolibre.com or deremate.com? I think it is rather difficult to buy an xmas tree and have it delivered in Colombia, E-commerce as you probably know is extremely poor. Good luck anyway

I want your daughter to have a Christmas Tree! I have never used Home Centers web site but have been in there stores several times. Yes, they are a Chilean company but people in Colombia and other countries order products on the web. I am American living in Miami with a girlfriend in Bello and have gone through some of these challenges.

If you strike out with these 3 above options or need any assistance please let me know. I have a friend who is a bilingual driver in Medellin that I personally can vouch for and known him for more than a year. He works with many of the Americans and all the fancy hotels. He gets flowers for my girlfriend, perfume, and whatever I need him to do. He purchased my domestic Colombian Airline tickets as they are more expensive or can not be purchased in the states. He is very reliable and can get the tree and all the decorations to your daughter tomorrow if we give him the green light early.

There are some other options but this is the one I would feel the most comfortable suggesting if you strike out calling the above stores. If you need my friend to go the stores or to help you with the calls, I will forward his information to you.

I know how frustrating it can feel to not be able to to order something a simple as a Christmas Tree.

Try this Go to www.virtualexito.com

That's the website for the Exito stores, there are hundreds all over Colombia, it fact there's a huge one right there in Niquia.
Click on "hogar" and then look for "Navidad" then click on page 2 and you start seeing all the christmas trees they have for sale.

Christmas trees are very popular in Colombia and they are sold almost everywhere. All of them artificial, few people use real pine trees for that.

Thank you I will try the options you sent me.

What part of Bello. My wife and children are in Niquia

I found a beautiful tree in that store and I was thinking to call to pay over the phone and then have someone pick up to drop off. I just cannot get the site to take an order for Colombia.

As far as getting money to your friend should he be able to help out, I use money gram all the time.
