good grief... The lawsuit is new, but the story has been in and out of the news for quite a while. The company is in all kinds of trouble because it paid, and it has admitted this, protection money to AUC, a right-wing paramilitary group which is on the US State Department's list of officially recognized terrorist organizations. It has admitted paying left-wing groups as well, and while it does appear that the lawsuit is seeking to find them liable for activities this money may have funded on both sides, the current US criminal investigation seems exclusively centered on the money paid to the paramilitary.

I have not seen any serious attempt to equate this with the worker abuses of United Fruit. The lawsuit is being filed not on behalf of workers alleging company abuse, but rather on behalf of those, apparently in the general population, who allege they are victims of crimes perpetrated by the various groups, using this money.
