goin_south says on Jul 18, 2007, 16:27: Here is the paragraph, but the article warrants reading, for those concerned about Global Warming...jejee (and, what was that other headliner on one of the weekly national magazines this week, maybe Discovery Magazine or similar/related periodical.....THE SUN:A CAUSE OF GLOBAL WARMING...Who would have thought of that? jaja) Anyway, here it is: Ciao! scotty says on Jul 18, 2007, 16:50: you mean the sun is actually causing global warming? i thought it was the USA and Bush causing that? did you know that the country of China opens a new coal burning stack every 48 hour spewing out coal waste into the atmosphere, but you never hear anyone even mention it. juanalejo says on Jul 18, 2007, 17:21: Did you know the US destroys a forest the size of Belgium every year to build suburban subdivision so Gringos can live in their enourmous plots of land? but you never hear many Gringos mention it. Sadly Chinese are now catching up and the subdivision trend is heading the same horrendous direction. Damn for those industrialized countries who care only about their own personal lifestyles.

scotty says on Jul 18, 2007, 17:38: did you know that as you call us gringos plant more trees than they cut down, did you know the forests of america are larger today than they were 100 years ago. yea those damn industrialized countries that furnish all the things the other countries want. scotty says on Jul 18, 2007, 19:55: China is very wasteful, that just shows how little you really know. China has discustingly dirty poluted waters and cities. They open for industrial use a coal burning stack every 45 to 48 hours, they are booming over there, they are cranking out waste and polution beyond belief. they are the new industrial power and they have no laws to control it, they are just cranking it out daily, but you rarely hear anything about it because they dont have the open society that we do that reports that sort of thing. juanalejo says on Jul 18, 2007, 20:11: Scotty, Bogota has gone from 3000 bikers a day in 2000 to 13000 bikers a day in 2006. So it can be done. Maybe not many are car owners, but many were bus riders though reducing the need for extra buses. We all know that China is growing beyond belief, but their waste is still far below the per capita volumes rich nations produce. The US consumes 25% of the worlds energy resources and it only has 5% of the population, lets hope China never reaches that percentage because the world will come to a stop that day. So the world needs to get together before China reaches those alarming numbers, but without example from western nations they have no interest in listening. But then again why blame them, I would be very upset if my rich neighbor came to me and asked me to turn off my 5 inefficient bulbs that light my 10 member home, just because he can afford to buy 50 efficient ones to light his single family home.

scotty says on Jul 18, 2007, 21:36: Yea China is below us right now, lets see what happens in 10 years at the rate they are going. Oh yea the buses they are a great idea spewing out that black smoke everytime they step on the pedal, get behind a bus in Cali and tell what you think after that experience. So the US consumes 25% of the energy but produces what percentage of materials and goods for the world to benefit from? Name one country that has given as much to the world in the way of technology, medicines, industry, and just everyday usable items, and think about this, many countries have been around for a long time and here comes the US only been here 200 years and we are cranking out all kinds of useful and needed items for the whole world to benefit from. scotty says on Jul 18, 2007, 23:00: yup, the US cuts down trees and ships the wood to China and Japan so they can build things and move forward. We also use our wood for stupid things like pianos, basketball courts, furniture, houses, crutches, kitchen cabinets, window blinds, cardboard boxes, paper, books, and other useless items that no one wants or needs. Walmart Americas largest chain store has just announced that they are going to double the number of stores they now have in China by buying out Chinas largest national store chain. juanalejo says on Jul 19, 2007, 05:53: The same sad story, the Gringos don´t give a damn about the rest of the world, they always give excuses for why they do this or they do that. Scotty you are the prime example of why the US is so unliked around the world, and it is because YOU think in YOUR opinion in that the US is the greatest planet on earth and therefore it excused from all its wrong doings, and you know what, NO it is not excused. And finally do try and read what I wrote again, you simply did not get it, what does Cali´s horrible fuming buses have to do with it, what do emergency needs like going to the bicycle have to do with going to work on a bike, don´t give me stupid excuses.
