China: Explosive.... and one little line in this article relates to Colombia...

And, about the inevitable PLUNDERING/PILLAGING OF A CONTINENT.

Here is a massive comglomeration - like China itself - of articles, hot-off-de-press, about :

" Broken China: A dysfunctional nation "

Here is the paragraph, but the article warrants reading, for those concerned about Global Warming...jejee (and, what was that other headliner on one of the weekly national magazines this week, maybe Discovery Magazine or similar/related periodical.....THE SUN:A CAUSE OF GLOBAL WARMING...Who would have thought of that? jaja) Anyway, here it is:

"The country's extraordinary ability to mobilize people and capital to accomplish daunting feats in record time is the reason it has averaged annual growth of 9.5% for three decades. It is why China is an export juggernaut in everything from T-shirts to TVs, has the world's fastest-growing consumer market (see "Keeping Up With the Wangs") and has amassed enough wealth to snap up South American mineral reserves, IBM Corp.'s (IBM, news, msgs) personal-computer division and a big stake in private-equity company Blackstone Group (BX, news, msgs)."

you mean the sun is actually causing global warming? i thought it was the USA and Bush causing that? did you know that the country of China opens a new coal burning stack every 48 hour spewing out coal waste into the atmosphere, but you never hear anyone even mention it.

Did you know the US destroys a forest the size of Belgium every year to build suburban subdivision so Gringos can live in their enourmous plots of land? but you never hear many Gringos mention it. Sadly Chinese are now catching up and the subdivision trend is heading the same horrendous direction. Damn for those industrialized countries who care only about their own personal lifestyles.

did you know that as you call us gringos plant more trees than they cut down, did you know the forests of america are larger today than they were 100 years ago. yea those damn industrialized countries that furnish all the things the other countries want.
where do you get your wild statements? if we destryed a forest the size of belguim every year there wouldnt be a tree left in 20 years, but as you can see there are plenty of foreat.

China is very wasteful, that just shows how little you really know. China has discustingly dirty poluted waters and cities. They open for industrial use a coal burning stack every 45 to 48 hours, they are booming over there, they are cranking out waste and polution beyond belief. they are the new industrial power and they have no laws to control it, they are just cranking it out daily, but you rarely hear anything about it because they dont have the open society that we do that reports that sort of thing.
so you think we should all start riding bikes now...wow, China has nice bike paths, thats great, thats got me all excited, wake up its the 21st century no one anywhere is going to ride a freakin bike if they can drive a car. if any human being is asked "hey buddy do you want to ride a bike everywhere you go or do you want this nice new car with AC and a CD player in it? "oh I'll take the bike thank you".
do you ride a bike every where you go Rubito? does your home use solar power? yea just what i thought another liberal trying to tell everyone else how to live their lives but not doing it themselves.(AL Gore)

Scotty, Bogota has gone from 3000 bikers a day in 2000 to 13000 bikers a day in 2006. So it can be done. Maybe not many are car owners, but many were bus riders though reducing the need for extra buses. We all know that China is growing beyond belief, but their waste is still far below the per capita volumes rich nations produce. The US consumes 25% of the worlds energy resources and it only has 5% of the population, lets hope China never reaches that percentage because the world will come to a stop that day. So the world needs to get together before China reaches those alarming numbers, but without example from western nations they have no interest in listening. But then again why blame them, I would be very upset if my rich neighbor came to me and asked me to turn off my 5 inefficient bulbs that light my 10 member home, just because he can afford to buy 50 efficient ones to light his single family home.

scotty says on Jul 18, 2007, 21:36:

Yea China is below us right now, lets see what happens in 10 years at the rate they are going. Oh yea the buses they are a great idea spewing out that black smoke everytime they step on the pedal, get behind a bus in Cali and tell what you think after that experience. So the US consumes 25% of the energy but produces what percentage of materials and goods for the world to benefit from? Name one country that has given as much to the world in the way of technology, medicines, industry, and just everyday usable items, and think about this, many countries have been around for a long time and here comes the US only been here 200 years and we are cranking out all kinds of useful and needed items for the whole world to benefit from.
Come on China doesnt need other countries to use as a roll model, do you think that communist countries leaders give a big hoot what the rest of the world thinks, come on man they arent following our lead they are doing their own thing other wise they wouldnt be opening for service a new coal burning stack every 48 hours.
Again you just dont get it, your example is just plain wrong, its not about light bulbs ( by the way America invented the light bulb, you are welcome). its not about riding bikes, or bike paths or any of that. Its about the market, its about what people want and demand, its about progress, its about moving forward not back wards, its about technology carrying us forward, its also ...this part is important EVERYBODY doing their part. If some one, anyone is going to tell another person that they must do this or they must do that then EVERYONE needs to do the same. If Al Gore and rock stars and movie stars and wealthy people are going to tell me to buy a certain light bulb or ride a bike then those same people better damn well be doing the same thing they are preaching about.
Besides they are now saying that the so called light saving bulbs contain mercury and if broken can cause mercury poisoning.
Bikes? how do you move a nation on bikes, do you think people around the world are going to go to the hospital on a bike, or grocery shopping on a bike, or vacation on a bike, come on man its 2007, if people want to ride bikes thats just fine with me but as long as cars are available that will be the main mode of transportation.

yup, the US cuts down trees and ships the wood to China and Japan so they can build things and move forward. We also use our wood for stupid things like pianos, basketball courts, furniture, houses, crutches, kitchen cabinets, window blinds, cardboard boxes, paper, books, and other useless items that no one wants or needs.

The same sad story, the Gringos don´t give a damn about the rest of the world, they always give excuses for why they do this or they do that. Scotty you are the prime example of why the US is so unliked around the world, and it is because YOU think in YOUR opinion in that the US is the greatest planet on earth and therefore it excused from all its wrong doings, and you know what, NO it is not excused. And finally do try and read what I wrote again, you simply did not get it, what does Cali´s horrible fuming buses have to do with it, what do emergency needs like going to the bicycle have to do with going to work on a bike, don´t give me stupid excuses.

China is simply pulling its population out of poverty and NO, it does not excuse their environmental damage, but the US has NO moral right to say anything because if the rest of the world was as polutant as your country then we simply would not exist as a planet.

thank you michael juanalejo moore. i can hear the hate in your words and large letters. let me just make a few comments concerning your very nice post.

First you would be very surprised if i told you that there really arent that many people around the world that hates the US like you do, in fact alot of people like america and americans, now you would never know this because the LEFT WING media says different, they promote the hate and people like you jump on the band wagon because you cant think for yourself you just follow the parade.

Second you may also be very surprised to know that I and many americans could give rats ass if you hate us or not. Some americans worry about it, I dont worry about it, if someone dislikes me or my country for what ever reason i could care less. The world today is full of so much hate for one thing or another it really doesnt matter to me anymore, borders, religion, political parties, countries, cultures, soccer teams, so who cares if some islamic radicals think Im an infifel, who cares if some left wing libs disagree with me, and who cares a few lost souls like yourself hate america.

Third, i have said this many times the US certainly is not a perfect place , this country and its people certainly have made our share of mistakes but then again what country hasnt made mistakes. Go back through history and look at all the mistakes made by countries all around the world, the list is endless. Whats even worse than that is many countries in history brutalized and dominated their own people.

Whats that saying about glass houses.
