I need help again! I need to take inexpensive gifts to children- they come from a modest family so things like watches, cd's etc would be considered to extragavant. Both boys & girls agest 7-12. Something they can't get there easily, and fun. Even if its North American candy. I just don't know what kids like (even here!).
Thanks to all.

Desideria (Moderator) says on Sep 25, 2004, 16:46: you just think that you know...actually I've found it's rather hard to figure out what to give to kids. I work with them, and I know I ought to know, but I don't. "When shall we three meet again? In thunder, lightning, or in rain?"(First Witch in Macbeth) 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Desideria (Moderator) says on Sep 25, 2004, 17:19: yeah, I think next time I'll bring'em wooden toy horses, train sets that you have to set them together yourself, soap and fashion jewelry kits that include a lot of personal effort, and maybe a cd by bob dylan or joan mauel serrat for their personal education.... 2retirensa says on Sep 25, 2004, 18:31: Adela I thought watches, cd's etc. might be extravagant because of the economic level of the family. Watches would be one of my first choices, but I don't want to appear to be the "rich american", which I am not, and it was something someone told me to be careful about. I do also like the sports equip., and craft kits. I have several to buy for, so I do have to be budget minded as well. Very good suggestions from all of you! Thanks

babygirl says on Sep 26, 2004, 20:04: had to get my 2 cents worth in... Hey! I don't know about kids in Colombia but I know my daughter and all her friends love girly stuff like lipsmackers flavoured lip balms and you can get little kits of it too. Very economical. But I'm always a fan of craft supplies / stickers / erasers / hair accessories / trendy bracelets / sidewalk chalk / and books & magazines. Also all very fun but economical. Make loot bags of the stuff! Canadian Girls Kick Ass! 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

2retirensa says on Sep 27, 2004, 16:13: Thanks, old grigo That price range is perfect! Picking out their own is a great activity for me and them both. Craft supplies and maybe camping gear, sports equip. will fix me up!
