Yes it's sad to see this. but education also starts in the home, and families (Mothers and Fathers) must act more responsible. but this is hard to do when a single parent, or in some cases both parents have to work 1-3 full time jobs to support the family, keep a roof over there kids head and put food on the table. leaving no time for the parents to raise there kids properly. leaving the children to fend for themselves or be raised by younger siblings. Education starts in the home. and parents must act responsibly.

Point? I fail to see the relation between an inadequate (public) education system (unemployment & teen pregnancy) and "a Disneyland". There are plenty of themeparks as well (Salitre, Mundo Aventura, Panaca de la Sabana, Parque Jaime Duque, etc. and more in the making like Vertigo).

Quite frankly I see colombia's attitude towards children as being quite pathetic. I brought my 4 y.o to a children's theater the other day. the first presentation was 4 girls about 13 y.o. or so, in miniskirts, knee-lenght boots and whateveryoucall tube-top like shirts. They "sang" horribly and gyrated on stage, shook their asses around (skirt in air) literally showing their naked butts. The parents in the back were so proud of their future whores.

Last year's festival here in Armenia had a float of several 15 or so y.o. topless - yes, topless. Well hey, a smidgen of body-paint. They were supposedly acting out an amozonic play or something. Yeah, good idea morons. - A float of mostly naked 15 yo's parading through the center of the city. Who was watching? People waiting to see an artful performance? It was all guys drinking bottles of whiskey. Most were running alongside snapping pics or filming them.

what kind of stupid parents would let their kids do that?

Some of that happens when litle girls wanna be madonas, Spears, etc. Outside tv and movies has lots of influence on girls and mothers. I don´t believe it is normal in Colombia to see fathers molesting their kids.

Madonna, Spears, ect are not Colombian... so maybe the "problem" isn't Colombian. Actually, I think those two American women have done more to exploit young women/girls than any guy ever has. Spears, for example, is just an ignorant, fucked-up ho, selling sex; but find me a pre-teen girl who doesn't know who she is or wouldn't wanna be her.

On the other hand, maybe the problem is mostly in the minds of prudish westerners. For most of human history, young women commonly became wives and mothers. So should the whole world change just because a few "modern", uptight old-maids have decided that since they're single and childless at thirty, everyone else should be ?
