Of course, if you add an "hijo de..." or something like it, that makes a huge difference.

It depends how is placed in the phrase.

Usually is not derogatory term. It was invented by Martin de Francisco he had a tv show called "el siguiente programa". I used to watch it when I was younger, to me that was the colombian version of southpark. Now he invented another term that can be derogatory, and that one is Iguazo.

Let's divide the word into sections to learn more about it; who ever made up the word was thinking of the Chibcha indigenous people of the eastern cordillera of the Andes of Colombia. He replaced the "a" in Chibcha for "o" or Chibcho, then he added the word colombiano but with an slight modification or Chombiano, he negotiated the letters to come out with a pleasant phonetic or rhythmic word = Chibchombiano

Now, if you take the root word of COLOMBIA and add to it an adjective with belittling meaning or even add a word with lessening connotation, as the example we have seen on the Internet nowadays, now I call that word an insult to Colombia or Colombians.

The Chibchan languages (also Chíbchan, Chibchano) make up a language family indigenous to Colombia and Central America.
