Buongone says on May 26, 2008, 00:58: If you fly Mexicana watch out for the baggage rule. You might be leaving stuff in airport storage. Very Costly.

OneHappyBoy says on May 26, 2008, 09:19: We always compare multiple airlines to port cities, like Miami, NYC or Houston, and LA.. Some times its cheaper to fly to an east coast city. then buy a domestic ticket on priceline.com for the domestic leg of the flight. COPA is competitive with Contintental, (they code share). American is EXPENSIVE. United not quite as bad, but AVIANCA is always more. Last fall and winter, it was so cheap, comparatively, to fly to SA, Now, WOW! prices are sky high!!

someguy says on May 26, 2008, 09:26: I just got a rt ticket for $507 (total) through Air Canada. I live in northern Cali and fly out from San Francisco. It's a good deal for up here because it flies to Toronto & then straight to Bogota. But the price I got was at the first of last week, so I don't know what the current price is. I always get an idea through Mobissimo.com & then go direct to the airline site to get a cheaper rate. Good luck.

sanandressi says on May 26, 2008, 12:56: www.sidestep.com is where I would search......however, since AVIANCA flies direct to Bogota from LAX then why not pay a little more and forget the connecting and all that? I mean if you are looking at saving only $100 then why bother? $200 or more would make Panama City or Dallas or Miami worth a connection. How about Air Canada?

sloopskipper says on May 26, 2008, 15:59: Although I would promote Copa, I would also pay a few pennies more for a direct flight, unless it is with Spirit, or another carrier with so many customer complaints.

I will not be checking any bags and am really trying to save, heck, I want to visit as many airports as possible. Thats what makes traveling exciting. (Stupid I know, I'll learn my lesson when I miss my first connecting flight! LOL)

Buongone says on May 26, 2008, 23:36: ice, you say you won't be checking any bags? What are you going to wear down there? Clothes tend to get a little dirty after a day or two? If you have to buy clothes down there. You are probably better off taking at least one bag of clothes.
