Cheap Flights to colombia in December from London

I wondered if anyone can help me i want to go to colombia in December and someone told me a friend of a friend who picked up a flight off of the intenet to colombia from London for under £500 and in December. Does anyone know of such a deal hubby can't stop off in US so we can only go via Madrid.

Cheap and December do not tend to go together. But give Air Madrid a try, they are a low cost airline out of Madrid www.airmadrid.com or also try Air Plus Comet, they iniciate operations in May. www.aircomet.com

As juanalejo said... the two words cheap and December are mutually exclusive. While I do NOT know a great deal about flight from your part of the world here are a couple of possible choices.

Avianca, I know, flys from London to Bototá via Madrid and Air France flys the route via Paris. My experience with friend and relatives comming to Colombia from the USA indicates you should fly before the 10 of December, or earlier. The catch is finding a return flight. Perhaps a travel agent or a consolidator in London could help. YOU MUST BOOK EARLY.

Good luck.

My family and I went to Colombia this past December for xmas and came back at the beginning of Jan. We bought our tickets in October and even that was a problem due to the dates, the agent told us of Colombians who had their seats booked since the summer. This is the most popular time for ex-pats to return home.

We always get our tickets from Colombian ex-pat travel agencies in London, I would recommend Condor(Kennington)and Soliman Travel (Earls Court). The best deals are always via the states and we went that way (£730 with AA) for the dates 11th Dec. My sister travelled the 16th Dec. with BA and her ticket cost £920.

Would not recommend getting it through the net as their prices are always beaten by the prices that the travel agencies offers.

plan early ! You'll be very lucky to get a ticket for Dec - They are usually all sold by now - we normally buy ours as soon as we return from Colombia in the middle of January. Even then you cant be too fussy about the return date. If you can go before 12 Dec the tickets will be a bit cheaper but the problem is coming back. Everyone wants to return the first week of Jan but if you can wait until after the first two weeks of the year it's not as bad. The other alternative is to fly on xmas day/boxing day as fewer people are travelling but you then miss out on party time!
