Is anyone going to Colombia this Christmas? I want to go but the prices are so high!!! any tips? I can travel first week on January too. Is one hour enough to transit from one plane to another in newark airport? that is the best alternative... :s

One hour in Newark........??......that's a bit tight.......I assume you have to do immigration unless you are able to do it at the departure point.............you'd also have to go through customs after picking up any bags.............one hour.....??

.........Its useless to argue with ignorance

One hour is not enough to "de-plane", get through Immigration, wait for luggage, stand in line to have Customs inspect luggage, re-check luggage and find the correct terminal for your next flight and go through the TSA search again.

Flying over the period of Christmas it's going to be expensive, I think Mid-January will be better flight gets cheaper.

I have flown to Colombia via, Newark, Houston and Miami, and usually I never have to rush to get into the next plane it's pretty quick, but the best to me was Flying with British airways to Miami and the American Airline to Bogotá, they transfered my luggage from London all the way to Bogotá I didn't have to pick anything in Miami and the queue for emigration was empty and quick.

On the return trip the only downside is that you have to pick your luggage in Miami and do the emigration , but that was very quick, BA staff were very professionals.

It's a big tag more expensive but it worth it.

Yes, indeed AIRCOMET is the way to go! Cheap flights, connects to Paris, too. Around 300 Euros each way.

What I have, I do not want to lose, but Where I am I do not want to stay, but those I love, I do not want to leave, but those I know I no longer want to see, but Where I die, I do not want to go;I want to stay where I have never been

I booked my Air France flight to Bogota leaving dec 26 in May already. Paid around 1600 USD in May (which is about 400$ more than in low season). Guess now it will be hard to find anything cheaper than 2500 USD with the big airlines from Europe to Colombia. There are usually some cheaper tickets if you connect through Miami... but being tired of the hassle at US airports I chose to pay 200 bucks more and to fly via Paris.

LONDON - CALI £505 (about US $1,000) with American Airlines - 15 hours via Miami
It is £200 cheaper than going on iberia airline via Madrid, unfortunately.

I checked with PARIS on same flights - only £30 extra - to £530.
