Cheap beer

I expect that made a couple of you left-click...

Well, it would me...

Anyway:

Last summer, in my wife's middling-sized town in Valle del Cauca, I was buying Poker at 900 pesos a bottle (economy of scale- I was getting it by the crate). Pretty good value, I thought.

Anyone else get any beer-bargains when in Colombia?

Or, alternately, tales of outrageously overpriced drinks may be of some interest.

We buy a case of Polar for 21,000 at the san andresito in town. Comes out to about 875 each can.

Aguil or similar spot-on! Can drink a six can a day and not mess up the liver too bad.

You guys got me thinking with the size thing. I'm gonna bring a few of the 24 ounce cans on my next trip. My Paisa's eyes nearly popped out of her head when she saw me with one of those the first time.

I gave a grande Aguilla during my last trip to a guy in Cali. He did not drink the whole thing! Next time I just got him some Pony Malta!

I wonder how come nobody talks about "Brava" My Gringo and I think, it is the best beer sold in Colombia. It was not very easy to find, people thinks it is very strong, we think it is because most Colombian beers are very weak.
