hi folks
I'm busy piecing together my latin american trip and I could have a round the world ticket which sees me to San Juan in Puerto Rico
Then I want to go to the dominican republic, cuba then colombia.....
Whats the cheapest airline to get into Bogota? can be from Havana/San Juan/Santa Domingo
I've done some google searches and there's one for about $380, is this the cheapest I'm likely to find? or have some of you maybe even done this journey and know about cheaper alternatives? Also coming out of Bogota to Lima what you guys suggest?
And this is a TOTAL longshot, but are there passenger boats that go between the Carribean and Colombia?
cheers
Andy

PaisaTours.com says on Jan 8, 2008, 16:24: Andy, I think you need to look into what is called a Hahn airpass (also known as an "All America Airpass") - you'll find the tickets to be much cheaper than those purchased directly from the airlines.

Andy S says on Jan 10, 2008, 06:09: paisa tours, that airpass you mentioned, is it simlpy a way of putting all your flights on the one ticket, but you have to book them individually yourself? Their website is about as clear as mud.....so far I have a cost of $1327 which sees me round everywhere but I can't find how to calculate the taxes. Have you used this airpass before?

Andy S says on Jan 10, 2008, 17:30: aaahhhh now that is interesting, cos I have just booked my RTW ticket but decided to miss out latin america on it, the plan being that I would simply use airlines like copa when and where I needed them when I got into latin america. I priced up a ticket online through kyak.com from brazil to san juan and I think it was Copa, and it went via panama....it said £450 and that tax was included in that....do you think there will be extra tax to pay??

Robert Jorge says on Jan 12, 2008, 00:34: Try www.LAN.com They are very competitive price-wise, and the most upscale carrier I have ever flown to South America. Big planes too. They fly 767s from Miami to Bogota. BEWARE of gold diggers. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

PaisaTours.com says on Feb 9, 2008, 17:05: Andy, sorry 4 delayed response. Trying to calculate Hahn airpass prices yourself is pretty complex - don't bother! I've booked it for many clients when I previously worked for a tour operator - it's almost always the cheapest means. Rarely is it cheapest to book directly with Copa. Find a specialist tour operator that can book the hahn airpass, see this guide to airpasses in South America for some advice.
