Just received notice that the interview date for my wife is Dec. 23rd. She has graduation from med school in Cartagena Dec 21st. Although I've heard its possible, I dont want to press our luck and try to get the medical exam and the lab stuff done on the 22nd.
How can I change the interview date to sometime in January? Can I choose a date? Thanks! -jt
also, has anyone called the Embassy? They charge our credit card for 36.000 pesos? What are the hours we can call?

bobbyb says on Nov 22, 2005, 12:39: here's what happened to me, we also had to postpone the interview of October 21. I sent an e-mail to the Colombian embassy through their web site and told them why we had to postpone the interview. I did this like 2 days before the interview. They sent me a response within 2 days and simply thanked me for the information and that they would take note of it. I did not specifically request another interview because I was not sure of how long it would take to resolve our problem. I just said it may take a few months. The next thing I know we were on the list for November, and I also got another invitation letter for the new date. I was very surprised.

My concern is that she is flying there from Cali and she won't be able to pick up the visa until the next business day which is the Monday after Christmas. She needs to return to Cali for the weekend.

JT says on Nov 22, 2005, 13:56: I called the Visa Info Call Center I called the Visa info call center and they charged my credit card for 11 minutes of call time. I was told that I could let the interview date go by and that the embassy would give another interview date within "approximately 60 days". Or, if my wife hadn't received the Packet 4, but did see her appointment listed online, then the embassy would reschedule the appointment when we contacted them. Or, I could mail a letter explaining that my wife can't make the interview on that date and request a later date. I suppose in the letter I could mention the date that I desired, but I'm sure it wont be gauranteed. JT 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

bbattiste says on Nov 22, 2005, 14:28: No scheduling I called the 877 number listed on the embassy webpage to see if I could request a certain date since my wife is pregnant and he basically wouldn't let me. He acted as if he didn't understand me. It was a waste of time.

utopiacowboy says on Nov 22, 2005, 15:46: This is exactly the kind of chickenshit behavior that the embassy needs to be reamed out for. Where's that guy, Stripes, to defend the indefensible? Yeah, I think they should all be fired. Personally I'd like to bitch slap each and every one of them. Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
