Can someone with experience tell me how and if my fiance can change her interview date for the fiance visa? To make a long story short, she has been scheduled for December 28th, 2006 but will not be able to make that appointment. The major reason is she's never traveled on a plain nor to a big city and we both agreed it was best if I accompany her. I would not be able to accompany her until January. Will the embassy allow us to change the interview dtae (to sometime in January)? If so, how do I go about doing that.
Any other comments on the subject would be appreciated.
Thanks

Fionalatina says on Dec 16, 2006, 10:53: Don´t do it... You shouldn´t change the date, it is very difficult to get it and the enterview won´t be more than five minutes, they will check all the paperwork and if everything is complete they will give her a new appoinment in a month... No need for you to be there. Fiona |

Crazy4Cali says on Dec 16, 2006, 20:25: I haven't tried, but I don't think that changing the date is a big deal. A fax to the embassy, perhaps, explaining that the beneficiary can't make it. All your paperwork is there at the embassy so you just need to show up and answer the questions.

dr75200 says on Dec 17, 2006, 05:10: Thanks Crazy4Cali Thanks Crazy and fiona. The major concern I have is my fiance traveling to Bogota alone. But looks like her cousin will be able to accompany her. So we're going to stick with the date.

rjstuff says on Dec 19, 2006, 15:29: A different thought Why not talk her into doing this alone - she is going to be leaving her country soon also and will be away from friends/parents/relatives and needs to learn to do things on her own - if you make everything too easy - she may not be able to survive on her own. But of course if she doesn't have the courage to do it then ...? Good Luck
