Does anyone have any information about these people? I live in Armenia and I understand that there may be such an organization near here. Also and maybe more imporetantly they have a new TEFL Certificate for English Teachers. My big question here is: what can I teach with such certification and how much can I make?

Ask Colombo Americano about this and see what they say. They do hire teachers too. Mr. Bill Somondoco 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Rikito says on Oct 6, 2009, 16:07: Another question. I have advanced university degrees. Besides working in my career of Human Resources I have taught at the American College in Greece and the UAE. Also in Gabon, Africa. I have also taught graduate level courses in the U.S. in Human Resource Management at the U of Houston, Rice University and Webster University. I never had a Certificate there...do I need one here in Colombia? The Central Colombo Americano is charging $1,600 for a TEFL Certificate with no guarantee of getting a job. That does not balance very well for me especially considering the poor pay aspect. ...and so it goes 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Lisa Zee says on Oct 6, 2009, 16:17: Eafit is supposed to pay better. My nephew was married to a N A girl, and she made more money than him working at a private school, and teaching English to professionals. With all those qualification I don't think you will have any problem finding some good teaching job. Good luck. Vive la vida y deja vivir!. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

bufalo says on Oct 6, 2009, 19:44: I worked at the one in Armenia a few years ago - NO certification needed, just walked in and asked if they needed a teacher. The pay is squat (not meaning it as insulting) but your high degrees don't matter for anything - they simply pay squat. I was actually the only teacher there who got paid regularly because I complained about how they didn't pay the teachers. Most had to wait several months to get paid. Since I didn't need the job, I had a big mouth so they kept me happy.
