Celebrating Valentine's Day - Colombian style

How do Colombians celebrate Valentine’s Day anyway??

I don’t think us Colombians celebrate valentine's day do we?, we do celebrate something very similar though I think it’s called "el dia del amor y la amistad" or something like that, I have been here in the UK for so long I don’t even remember when it is or how they celebrate it I bet everybody celebrates it differently though, anyway my husband being a gringo always likes to celebrate valentine's day and I am too happy to agree as he buys me some amazing gifts.. But I am tired of celebrating Valentine’s Day the old fashion way the whole idea of getting flowers and chocolates sounds too cliché don’t you think?

So I have taken matters into my own hands and have decided to celebrate this Valentine’s Day my way! clubbing with plenty of booze and sexercises.

So I have arranged for us to stay at the Hilton hotel in park lane (London) will stay there the whole weekend to get away from the world, you guys with young kids would know how difficult it is to get some privacy in your own home!!

I also want to take him to some Colombian nightclubs hopefully to show my man’s new moves! I have been busy teaching my hubby salsa I specialise in the Cuban salsa I find the dance moves much sexier, and I was also thinking of taking my husband to after parties swanky trendy Ibiza style nightclubs in London that start at 3am and close the next day at 5pm so that he enjoys himself and doesn’t get bored with all this salsa business, I want to let my dark side out… this days I don’t let it out at all and I’m becoming too monotonous and it’s just not right I need to be naughty!! Jejeje

But before leaving home for our wild weekend ahead I want to cook my husband some nice Colombian meal so as he loves costeño food so much especially if it contains coconut I was hoping that some of you guys can help me out by giving me some nice recipes.

I also want to buy some nice Colombian booze but don’t know which is best so I’ve thought about getting some aguardiente may be you guys can give me more ideas.
I have also been told that some seafood recipes are aphrodisiacs so if you know of some please let me know! We need all the energy we can get!!

Colombian style means taking your secretaria to a motel el dia del amor y la amistad. I'm dead serious. It's very common. If this is not possible, you wait for el dia de la secretaria. I swear that this day you cannot get into a motel beacuse thay're all packed. There is literally a line of cars with couples waiting to get in. Forget the Hilton... the real action happens in Rocamar, Estadero del Norte, Hostal de La Calera, Coconito, Amoblados El Dorado... come on, we've all been there.

Kat,I’m like Gomez Adams (Tha Addams Family) talk to me in French and I get all horny. UC speaks French and if he ever does that around me I’ll probably have him on all fours too. The only French I know is 'pepe le pew! and that's with having French god parents, who paid for private French classes and gave me a French first name. What a waist of money that was, I still can't even pronounce my own name.

“Pepe le pew was a very popular cartoon here in the states way back during 4 channels and black and white TV. Pepe was a very romantic horny French skunk who thought he was a cat. He fell in love with all the gatas but the gatas of course always ran away from him, he smelled like a skunk! He reminds me very much of yours truly, thought women find me repulsive I always think they’re just playing hard to get and i chase them anyway.

tinto, if you think about it most of those cartoons had a hidden message, in tune with the counter culture. you ever tried to figure out "rocky and bullwinkle", a squirril(how the hell you spell ardilla?) and a moose, what's with that?

Valentine?? I never knew they had an international day named after him, good grief. His imitation poor opera disguised as pop songs in the fifties were rubbish. Dicky who?

Why not an Elvis day? Everyone loved him.

I have had the misfortune to experiment coke in the past and was hooked up on it for quite some time and all I can say is that whoever touches it ends up burnt! Coke as well as other drugs ruins your life especially if you take it whilst in a deep estate of depression and loneliness.

I don’t know about Colombia but I known that Colombians in the UK who are in the ‘business’ get hooked up on it too if you go to a Colombian nightclub in London you are sure to find a few people “powdering their noses in the toilets but if you go to a gay club where everything goes you will find a lot of Colombians doing drugs everywhere even in the dance floor, this Colombians are people you wouldn’t normally categorise as a druggies you get to see some madness in those places! It’s sad I know but people get hooked up really easy and once you’ve tried it you can’t stop and it’ll be very hard to go out ‘socialite’ and not use it.

Here in the UK it is considered chic and very trendy using coke so if you are a real socialite you need to prove it the real socialites go to swanky hip style nightclubs and have all the drugs you can ever imagine, I know this for a fact I have been through this myself.

But as for the other Colombians in London well they are hard working people who wouldn’t go near that stuff. Some people assume that because Colombia is the largest producer of cocaine and heroine then all Colombians must be coke users or crack heads and that’s a big understatement I have had English people asked me if I have cocaine on me just because I tell them that I’m from Colombia. I guess that we are just like any other country some people do it and some people don’t.
