If some did not know, and I am sure most dont or give doble shitz. I am in Medellin right now.
I managed to bump into an Irishman the other night in Parque lleras. And figuring I might test what was said about them and their beloved Guinness I decided to drink with them.
Well, what to my wondering eyes should appear before this Lephrecaun? I am glad you ask. A god damn Italian beer he wraps his mitts around! Thats when I knew right then and there its somethin about this damn country that makes you tilt a wee bit to the other side!
And the little guy could hold his beer ya know, not too mention dance moves that would make Patrick Swayze jealous! And dont believe that shitz about them little guys being stingy with their gold! he was a might gentlemanly!
Anyway, Today Sunday, 3/2 I got a wild whisker up and decided to travel from Medellin to a little town called FREDONIA about 1.5 hours south or so. What a little treat.!
This little town is built right on the side of a mountain at about 3000 mtrs. Anywhere you go as soon as you exit your car you feel like the ...I should have had a V8 commercial!
Some of the best vistas I have seen to date on the drive and around the town. It has the traditional town square only its in a perpetual tilt...everything is on a perpetual tilt.
A very different little place. From the stares that I got I assume they dont see much of a wild eyed catfish in those parts. I decided to let my funny lil partner to take the window seat just in case. I told them they looked flush and the cool mountain air might cool her a bit!
If you get the chance out of MDE just take the Autopista toward Sabenta/Caldas and then follow the signs to Fredonia. Take the first right turn Fredonia sign for a great none paved road for about 45 minutes and mostly one lane. I decided to take the long way back which took about 2.5 hours. I will post some pics when I can!
By the way. What caught my eye when looking at the map was the name.
Wasnt FREDONIA and town in a Marxx brothers movie, and is actually in Upper New Jerk state? They brothers would have fit right in there today...As groucho said to my Irish friend!
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than and frontal lobotomy!!! YUCK YUCK!

Someone there should be able to find it. "World economic indicators point to a democrat winning 2008. It will surely be Obama. Peso 1400 by November" Feb 5, 2008 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
