My friend and I just stayed in a new hostel called Art Hostel last weekend. It was awesome! The rooms are simple but cool, and the mattresses, pillows, and towels are by far the best we've seen in over a month traveling through Colombia. They also have a great swimming pool in the center courtyard and an awesome rooftop area with nice views. It definitely has the youthful vibe you mentioned, and we had no problems with safety issues.

I think the dorms are around 20-25mil, and if you get a private room they are pricey, 40mil per person. We had a great time there though, so we felt the extra cost was worth it.

Where exactly is this place??? They've got many beds, but only 2 private rooms????
I don't mind a hostel, but I need a private room. Dorm sleeping really sucks!!
In Cartagena I stayed at an upscale hotel in the walled city at a discount price ($40 US).
I also stayed at Casa Relax in Getsemani twice. I like this place and for $30 a night, well woth it.
