Awhile back I though that someone posted that there was a place in Cali that rents cars. Anyone know of anyplace recently?

Thanks

There is a Hertz office Hertz has an office in the Intercontinental Hotel and at the Cali airport. I just returned from a trip to Cali and rented a car there online for about $600 US for 10 days, Mazda 323, unlimited miles. It seems as if all the rentals there are manual drive, so be prepared! Good luck!

Did you need an international drivers license or will my North carolina one work?

Michael_B, a question: Have you been to Cali before?
I am wondering if you know their style of driving. It's very different; I don't know why they even have lines on the roads in the city. A waste of paint. It did, in fact, remind me somewhat of Revolutionary Boulevard in TIJUANAjajaja.

I'm not sure your Carolinian style will blend in. Please, make sure you have insurance, to the max. Although I never saw any accidents while there, I also didn't see any Gringos driving those roads, either.
I am sure some do. But, you already are going to be in a foreign environment. I wouldn't drive there. On the carreterra between Popayan and Pasto? Si. No problems. But, in Cali? Good Luck.

Your US license is fine And insurance was included in the $600 US total cost. But I also have international car rental insurance with my gold credit card - most of them give you some insurance, check it out with your credit card provider.

What galeCito says is true...it is pretty wild driving in Cali. I suggest having a local with you at the very least to get around in the city! I drove from Cali to Popayan and also around Pereira, my first time and a gringa too! But I have driven in other cities where there are a bunch of crazies so I'm kind of used to it.

Driving in Colombia You need only to be proficient in driving with one hand as your other hand is required to be on the horn! Never.. have I heard so much noise as the traffic in Colombia. In Canada....two honks on your horn gets you a bloody nose!

Terry2 Have you ever been in traffic in NYC? Or, did Juliana clean that noise box up too, Rubiato?

Being from Philly doesn't mean you're a yankee. (Being from NY might; but) being from Philly more than likely means you have close ties to Sicily. (Not Sicily Tyson)
