Car rental in Cali Colombia

Anyone knows some reasonable car rental companies in Cali? I am shocked about Hertz and Thrifty's prices.

Just returned from Medellin, we rented a taxi for 20,000 peso's an hour. Took us anywhere including out into the country. Our own private tour bus with not fuss.

Never seen reasonable rental car rates from any major rental company but you might find something locally.

For us their culture of driving is a wonder, as you will wonder if we could possibly drive like that without denting the rental carro..jajajaja

Forget the idea of renting a car in Colombia for $19.95/day and unlimited mileage. Renting a car in Colombia will cost you and arm and a leg no matter who you choose to go with. Sad but true.

Please, rent a taxi by the hour. Bargain him down to 15K an hour, although you should pay for his lunch.

If you are not used to Latin driving styles, you'll need to learn to drive all over again, plus, you don't probably don't ever know where you're going!

I believe the official taxi-by-the-hour price in Bogota is 13mil. Look it up on the price-tag thing with the meter-conversion. But many taxis don´t like working for that price. Call the taxi dispatch.

There was a car rental outfit next to the old Conavi, now Bancolombia at the corner of Calle 44 and Ave 6ta. I haven´t looked lately but last time I did they said the rate was $100.000 a day insurence included. I will take another look I may need one myself if I need overnight work on my truck.

Oh, another wonder about driving there as we sat in the back of our taxi stress free is how we couldn't find one car with body damage. We did however meet several one legged people who used to drive a motorcycle. I have never been anywhere that you could hire a legit taxi for less than $10 US an hour.
