Cañon de Rio Claro

Does anyone have any more information on where this is and how to get there? Seems its about 150 miles from Bogota. But in which direction I have no idea. Saw a couple of pics and it looks very interesting.

Any info appreciated.

Are you leaving from Bogota? It is on the way from Bogota to Medellin, and you just catch a bus to Medellin and tell them (several times throughout the ride) that you are getting off at Rio Claro.

As to which direction.....right now am thinking it might be an interesting stop on the way to the coast this Easter. Just depends which way we go this year. Ill check out the guia you get at the peajes when I get home for any more information.

I went about a year ago. Call ahead and reserve a room. There are different options as for your housing. You may also want to call and ask about the river conditions. They do not do any river rafting (i think it is a class 1) when the river is to high. Really nice.

I think San Gil maybe better. I have not gone but look forward to it. You are welcome to PM if you want some additional pictures. Oh take a flash light.
