PBH / colombia (travelguide, pictures) / post |
Anyone know what Camote is? It is a staple food in Peru very similar to a sweet potato. Does anything like this exist in Colombia? I have never seen it.

Papi de Alejo says on Jun 15, 2008, 14:21: Kat, when I lived in the British West Indies, there was something that I knew as yams which is completely different from the yams that they have in the US. It appears to me that in the US, sweet potatoes and yams are very closely related. In the West Indies, and I suppose in the UK, yams and sweet potatoes are very different.

dwr says on Jun 15, 2008, 14:59: My original questions remains unanswered though. In Peru they eat Camote. It is delicious with their ceviche. What are camote in Colombia? Do they exist. Is it this ñame? The batatas did not look anything like camote Peruano.
