In Colombia things are never calm, this past days we have been talking about a whole bunch of different matters, from politics, to soccer and weather. The topics are very different so I think you would e interested in at least one of them. So lets begin with the more serious one.
This last few days the idea of changing the constitution in order to allow the reelection of the President has gained some force. Some of the congressmen of Uribe's movement are promoting the idea. Since the president now has an 80% popularity, this process is getting more and more people to support it. I think Uribe has been the best president that I have seen and I totally support this idea, but we have to wait to see how the two years that remains of his period ends.
Now, what is going on with the weather in Colombia? Just one word: it's SUMMER. In the warm weather places you can hardly tell. But in the high altitude places, Bogotá, Medellin, Boyaca, the weather has changed a lot. Now, here in Bogotá we are experiencing 24 ºC every day at noon, and temperatures of –2ºC early in the mornings. The crops of products like potatoes have suffered a lot and we will have this temperature changes all the way to March. Its crazy, but the city looks so good all sunny.
[image:2989,right]Finally, I had to talk about one of my personal heroes that was in the news all week. Carlos “El Pibe” Valderrama said goodbye to professional soccer. His goodbye game was in Barranquilla last Sunday. Big players from around the world came and spend the whole weekend with him in different activities. Carlos Valderrama is the best Colombian soccer player of all times. He was the captain of the national team in three world cups. Even Maradona came to the celebrations, and Carlos Vives played at his game.
I could not leave this behind and I have to say that he finish his career in the way that he deserves it and Colombian could showed all its appreciation for him. More

yelibeth says on Apr 14, 2004, 08:32: the best president ?? well i would not say so the, he is not respecting human rights , did you hear about his visit to Europe for support more then half of the representatives left him speaking alone ..and some pulled out white hankies in sign of protest .maybe you can have a diferent opinion about him if you read the colombian indymedia ..you can find it on the net...I don't think its a good idea that colombia gets more in debt with the usa and with the plan colombia we are in the hole..and he want's to re-new the plan.. what about all the harch chimical spraying ?? the supreme court of colombia thinks it is an act aginst human rights yet Uribe won't stop..I really hope Colombians stop beleaving their corrupt media and try to learn alittle more about their president.
