Calling Card/Internet Calling Website Suggestions for Col to US?

i am looking for a temporary method of having a person from a local Cartagena landwire phone (nonVOIP) call the US at my expense....i normally use nobelcom.com in the US to Col direction, but need a non-permanent use calling card or internet account based site for about a month to month and a half....any such users out there? i dont want to search for the absolute cheapest one, just something reliable, clear, and not 45 cents a minute like nobelcom.com.......i am willing to pay 1 bazillion PBH Gringo Pesos for the winning poster! WhoooHooooo!!! =)

PS...i know of the search function, but i being a little flojo at the moment! sorry!

Skype brother Miguel,

You are paying way to much yourself....

I pay 5 cents a minute to a landline on Skype to Cali to my wife.... which will hopefully be up here soon... and I pay 10 cents a minute to her cell phone.

If you go to Best Buy you can buy a wireless phone that will go through a computer and is used for skype.... or you can buy it from the skype.com site itself.

I rarely have had any trouples with skype.

I pay 0,00 to call the US Landline and Mobile Guy's
I use voipbuster, to call to colombia landlines, for mobile Skype is cheaper.

Calling to US is FREE

I use direct call in colombia as i have no broadband, no cobertura the isp's say, your house is to new. I have to wait afew months.

This function i give up my landline number in colombia and the number i wanna call, activate or press enter and then quickly change the modem connector with my phone connector. then they call your landline numbers you answer and wait, then the other number will be dialed. and start talking.

You can also send call's to every landline you like, so from the us you can also send a call to Colombia.

In europe you can get a cellphone with unlimited calls to lindlines for free. and voipbuster will provide you with a local number you can use with the cellphone connected to your voipbuster account. So even without internet connection I can call from my Cellphone to Colombia paying only the Euro 0,02 cent's per minute.

For Colombia they do not support this function, I already checked it out and made a separate account with a colombian billing adress.

Check the rates here: http://www.voipbuster.com/en/rates.html

Calling to the US landline and Mobile is FREE!!!!

Think you will have to pay me the 1 bazillion PBH Gringo Pesos

Don't think it can be cheaper then this.

Read the small letters! they only will give you about 300 or 400 minutes a week for free for 180 days after you charged your account with a minimum of 10 euro or 10 US$.

skype question Miguel,

I had the skype phone to take down there and connect to her brother's computer ( he has a studio below her house) and I wish I had.... it would have worked since he has a wireless connection that I always get on with my laptop and I still use skype to call the US on my laptop. As for this other voipbuster... it may be worth checking into... but I know I would definitely be running a virus checker on it, if I did download it. I am happy with Skype, so I am not switching. If you have a computer with broadband connection in Colombia, Skype will work without any hassle. The best thing is that calling to the US is only 2 cents a minute.

Skype Unqeustionably skype... Clarity is better than a landline to a landline down the street.

9.5 cents a minute to a colombian cell phone. And 2.5 cents from colombia to the US. Or anywhere to the US.

http://www.voipbuster.com/en/rates.html I used vopi busters - it gave me really really poor reception. And I bought 10 dollars worth oof minutes - I used it several times - for free calls in teh US etc... But it was just so bad I eventually gave up. That is my experience - you are welcome to use it yourself. But - I highly recemend against it.

To put it simply - I think there is a reason that SKype is gaining mass popularity - and voipbusters is not - I also used it to call friends in the US and it was horrible.

Phone - I bought a skype head set that plugs into the USB drive on your computer. About 30 bucks more or less on amazon - works incredibly - itis the logitech 2000 or something but now there is the 3000. I think they are the same for all intensive purpose.

Skype ... FYI, He/She needs high speed internet connection for skype. But can sign up for about 30 $ a month. Or S/He can get on a wi-fi network with the skype phone - about 150 on ebay. Thing works incredibly as well.

I have installed on both my... ...laptop and desktop Skype and WebPhone. They both charge the same on calls from the USA to Bogotá. I use both but lately WebPhone has provided much better reception. In fact this week Skype was so bad I had to close it and use WebPhone.

I am making daily calls to my wife who is currently visiting Colombia and staying at a hotel suite in Bogotá. Difficult to determine if the reception problem is with Skype or the hotel phone system.

I have the US to Col calls dialed in, but how about Colombia calls to the US from a local hardwire phone inside of Colombia?

A Conference Calling Service Might Work Miguel,

A global conference calling service might be ideal for you even though it's just you and another person. The newer conferencing services offer a "web dial-out" feature which allows a computer to connect the two calls and deduct money from your PIN. Rates are generally less than half of what you are currently paying or better.

At any rate, we're merely days away from launching our conference calling product. If you'd like, I can come back and post the rate once I have it if you'd like.

Hasta.
