PBH / colombia (travelguide, pictures) / post |
Seems all the posts for this are from 2005. I had to make a last minute flight to Cali, and need to travel to Tulua 4-10-08. Is it worth it for me to just take a taxi or will it be super expensive.
I don't mind taking a bus, just not sure which one and which stop, I am going to barrio Maricaibo to surprise my girlfriend who's grandfather just died.
Sure I can wing it, but poorbuthappy is the best resource for info in Colombia :) jejejeje
My spanish is ok, I have been to cali before, but I dont want to be screwing around looking for the right bus either.
thanks guys, you are great!

Aaron21 says on Apr 8, 2008, 21:40: Well, it is a little over an hour from the airport and about about an hour-and-a-half from Cali... I have never taken a taxi to Tulua, but I imagine it is not cheap - probably 100 mil or more - it is 40 mil to the airport. A bigger concern for me would be traveling that road in a taxi - it is not the safest...

Mononoke28 says on Apr 9, 2008, 08:56: My suggestion is for you to take the shuttle or cab to the terminal and then take a bus that'll take you to Tuluá. It's a 1-1½ hour drive and the buses stop at 8PM. Once you get there, take a cab to your girlfriend's, it's not a bad drive at all but you have to make it during the day, not at night. Don't go to Palmira, it'll be too complicated that way. Diana 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

vicshere says on Apr 9, 2008, 09:01: I drove through Tulua on the way to Cali just over a year ago....it looked like a safe little town....its on the main highway from Bogotá to Cali so don't see a problem for security unless it has changed much....its about 1 1/2 to 2 hours from the cali airport depending on traffic...and i would travel during the day also listo 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Morrongo says on Apr 9, 2008, 15:32: I would just add, the two options you have, take shuttle to either Palmira or Cali, cost 3500 cop...you can get buses or taxi collectivos(sharing with 3 or 6 persons depending on car) from either. Car is a quicker but a bit more expensive...if you are a happy traveller go to Palmira first as its only a hour journey from there. Bus cost about 8,000 car about 14,000 depending on company...as said ,not a night trip and last bus is 8pm from Cali 8:30 Palmira
