Cali Plaza Hotel was simply wonderful!!!

My first trip to Cali was wonderful. It had a lot to do with where I stayed while there. I found this wonderful "Aparta-Hotel" just off of Avenida Sexta. It is called Cali Plaza (www.caliplaza.com). Claude (owner) and Gonzalo will make you feel at home within the first five minutes of your arrival. They both speak English and are experts on Cali. The rooms are affordable, clean and nicely decorated. The staff are attentive and friendly. Close to everything you need: banks, supermarkets, internet cafe, bars, nightclubs etc. The cell phone service for guests was also something I took advantage of. If you are planning a trip to Cali and want no headaches..consider Cali Plaza. Feel free to write to me directly at milanojps at yahoo.com for more specific questions.

Enjoy your time in Cali!

John

Quick question I'm sure you had a great time. Thanks for the info.

I did check out the website as I'm interested in Cali lodging. I'll probably be making a trip there soon.

My question: Don't the rates for one night (COP150.000-160.000 with a guest) seem very close to the rates at the Intercontinental (COP176.000 incl guest - approx. $80USD) and other major hotels? Is it THAT good? What makes this place so special?

With an apart-hotel, I would expect it to be as functional, maybe not as luxurious, but definitely less expensive than one of those major hotels.

Just need clarity on this. Not trying to offend, so please don't take it that way.

"Don't tase me, bro!!!!"

Cali Plaza Hi Toneloc24:

Been away so sorry for not getting back to you sooner. No offense taken. Well, I guess the whole experience: personalized service, local cell phone usage, center of the action made it worth paying for. It felt like I was visiting a friend as opposed to being another guest at an expensive hotel.

Claude would love to hear your questions directly, just shoot him an email (re-visit the website) and mention that John "in Chicago" suggested you contact him. I cannot tell you how honest he is and he will tell you the truth even if it means sending you to the Inter if it suits you better. You will get a lot out of the conversation.

Good luck,

John
