Cali or Medellin?

The climates between the 2 cities are quite different. Cali is certainly more hot and humid...temperatures are usually in the 30's (degrees centigrade). Medallo's climate is rather cooler and averages in the 20's.
The thing is most people from outside of Colombia would probably prefer Medellin because of the climate...it's geographical positioning which makes it easier to travel to Bogota and the North Coast of Colombia, plus you have El Eje Cafetero south of Antioquia, an area encompassing the coffee growing regions of Caldas, Risaralda and Quindio.
People are more or less the same....very friendly. The Paisas are well known in Colombia for being hard working (but they also have fame for being sly and cunning...ok they are brilliant liars).
If you like salsa perhaps go for Cali as it's the salsa capital of Colombia, there are plenty of clubs to suit your taste, and plenty calenos and calenas frquenting said establishments.
Don't know much about employment because I haven't really done any work in Colombia (not in the conventional sense anyway), but I would take an educated guess and say you might have better chances in Medellin.....good luck

ethnic mix Never been to either one but what I hear & read is that the ethnic mix in Medellin is primarily European (Spanish & Jewish descent) with a few blacks, mulatos and natives spicing up the mix; in Cali there is a much larger percentage of blacks and mulatos.

Personally, I think many mulato women are physically incredible, but I hear that those paisa women are smart, educated, hard working and cultured, and make great wife material.
