I just arrived in Cali and I'm planning on staying a while. Any other guys (straight)want to hang out let me know. My interests are Bicycling, weight-lifing, music, women, women and women.
Send me a private message and let's hit these hot Cali streets!

jh816 says on Feb 15, 2006, 14:31: While I was there... While I was in Cali, I went to Gymnasio Olympico(pretty sure about the spelling, but close enough). Not a big place or real fancy, but only 35,000 COP/month, about any equipment you need, rarely busy enough you have to wait for stuff, and everyone was pretty nice. O.K., disclaimer: I've got fairly modest fitness needs(free weights, cardio-bike, and treadmill), but they do have a few machines also. Pete E. suggested the place he goes to (can't remember the name). It was too expensive for my cheap-arse(around 75k COP I think), but would have anything you could possibly need and looked like a higher class of clientele. Anyway, Olympico is two blocks south of the Grenada "Casa de Cerveza" between Avenida sexta and ochenta.

RobMiami says on Feb 16, 2006, 06:38: Gyms JAJA funny you mentioned gyms. My apartment is right next to Casa de Cerveza and I went looking for a gym the first day I got here (yesterday) and found one called Escandinavia. It was OK... lots of equipment (3 floors) but they wanted 85,000COP/month. I lost weight running away from the building!

jh816 says on Feb 16, 2006, 11:18: Escandinavia, that's the one Pete suggested Yeah, really overpriced but looked nice. Still can't remember address of Olympico, but heading south on Ochenta turn right at the panaderia about two blocks south of Casa Cerveza. It's on the north side of the road.

RobMiami says on Feb 17, 2006, 14:18: Olympico is a dump I stopped by Olympico today and it's pretty low-class. Now I have to make the decision to pay the extra bucks for the nicer gym or just bite the bullet and concentrate on lifting the weight instead of the crappy surroundings...

mecca says on May 6, 2007, 09:47: Rob, you've got several great places for stairs. Santa monica has some great up the hill stairs, 10 times up and down those and you'll feel it big time. Lots of shade on them too. Takes me back to school, lol. There are a few gyms, though Calipro is right, not super well done.
