Buying online and having it delivered to Colombia

Just wondering if anyone has tried this?

I am thinking of buying maybe some dvds (new) from some online vendor, paying for it.. but having the delivery address to a friend in Colombia.

Anyone know whether they deliver 100% of the time? (at least more than normal post, i guess is what i am asking... i seem to lose some sometimes)

Cheers

Hi there Lorenzo.
I have purchased loads of stuff from the USA over the internet and had it shipped to me in Medellin with no probs, but just make sure that you pay for the parcel to be insured, better to be safe than sorry.

deliveries i have never had a problem receiving goods shipped to me in colombia by regular mail. but it does take a very long time!!! sometimes 6-8 weeks or more. more recently, i use federal express for deliveries. dhl also operates in colombia. if you want certaintly use one of these companies.

Todo1Box Hi Lorenzo.

I've ordered 3 things in the last 6 months: one book, a DVD-RW and a US$1700 Dell computer (packed in 3 boxes).

I had no problems with the deliveries at all. Just waiting for about 3 or 4 weeks and that's all. For the book and the DVDRW I used a courier service, Todo1Box (http://todo1box.com/) they are connected with the major bank in Colombia, Conavi-Bancolombia. I set up an account there and they provided me with a drop box in Doral, FL. Whenever I find one of those sites that don't ship outside the States, I can have the order perfectly delivered to the FL address and then they send it to me. They even do the customs, you just pay and sit waiting for the package, and track the order online.

The price is fair IMO, just care to read the faqs for information about costs, make calculations before.

Sending stuff It doesn´t matter if the person who receives the goods is not the same as the one who orders-pays for them, just make sure that the online company delivers to Colombia, check the rates and the country list, if you have doubts email the company, they usually have different rates depending on the type of delivery (standard airmail, courier service, etc.).

Immigration services? What kind of immigration services do you deal with?

I have a fiancee in Medellin and the debate is if I will go to live with her or she with me.

The other option is ehta we immigrate to Ecuador or Brazil.....
