Buying Jewlery in San Andres

We are going to San Andres/Provedencia Feb. 5-11. Can you buy good quality jewlery there? I want to get my wife some kind of Emeralds sudh as ear rings or a bracelt. It's a belated Christmas gift.

There are no serious jewelry stores there. Don't be foolish and spend a lot of money on jewelry there. Get her something small but nice to remember the trip and then when you get back to where ever you live seek out a serious, trained, professional and accredited gemologist to buy her the real deal. Have a fun time and see if you can't find the 7 colors of blue the water is in San Andres!

I tried to go to a supposed upscale jewlery store here in Armenia. I was looking at Emeralds and a Pearl Knecklace. The Emeralds she showed me were cloudly, and poor grades and the Pearls were worse. She also tried to pawn off a two carrot for a three carrot emerald. I think that finding a reputable jeweler who wants to sell you good quality versus rippimg you off is one of the hardest things to do.
