I have just rung Avianca in UK to check prices of internal flights and have been quoted Bogota to Tumaco £130 and Bogota to Cartagana £130 one way. This seems quite expensive to me or am I behind the times with prices? (last time in Colombia was 2004). Could I get better prices paying for them in Colombia?

suizo says on Oct 11, 2006, 07:55: I suggest calling Avianca directly in Bogota and paying with your CC by phone. This will be half as expensive! Bogota - Cartagena is around 60£ incl. taxes oneway. I've done this and it works perfectly. Unfortunately, it is not possible to book online. Maybe you could also try Aerorepublica, sometimes they are cheaper.

Luke says on Oct 11, 2006, 15:57: Suizo is right Online pricing is much different than calling directly. Also, hotels usually give much better rates in person or calling directly than you would get by visiting their website. Gringos get overcharged all the time.
