Has anyone purchased a condo in a company name in Colombia?
Does this qualify you for the investment visa?
Does this protect you property in divorce?
How about trust? If your trust purchases properties after marriage are you protected?

BAQ says on Aug 19, 2007, 09:39: LIVING HERE, being married to a Colombian and having gone through the process of buying a house, a car, other property ect., my OPINION is that you are asking technical questions that would best be answered by a good ATTORNEY here in Colombia. Dont have the space here to go into everything but things can get tricky, so again, talk to an attorney Semper Fidelis ! 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

gringolondinense says on Aug 21, 2007, 04:48: set up an offshore company i.e. company not resident in ur home country or colombia. Get some nominee directors and make that company buy the house. Just make sure your name isnt on the paperwork.
