Buñuelos recipe

Does anybody here know how to make buñuelos? which cheese apart from el queso costeño used in colombia can i use? and how about frying them? I need to know soon 'cause i'm cooking tonight there's going to be lechona, natilla and arequipe and plenty of aguardiente.. you see i'm celebrating christmas a lo colombiano but i want to learn to make buñuelos because my husband loves them.. please help

Buñuelos Español
1 lb de queso (The white cheese called queso fresco or queso blanco found in most Mexican markets can be used.)

1 1/2 tazas de maizena
2 huevos batidos
2 cdas de panela raspada o azúcar morena
1/2 cdita de sal
English

1 lb white cheese or small curd cottage cheese(quesito). The white cheese called queso fresco or queso blanco found in most Mexican markets can be used.
1 1/2 cups corn starch
2 eggs, beaten
2 T brown surga1/2 t. salt
Grate the cheese. Mix the cheese wqith the corn starch,. eggs, brown sugar and salt. Roll into golf ball sized balls and drop into medium hot veg. oil and fry slowly. After several minutes increase the tempature and fry until golden. Remove from oi, drain and enjoy. Makes about 15 buñuelos

You can find premade dough in most major markets in thwe USA. One we have see on visits to Miami and Atlants is Sumaíz.

oldgringo first of all call me señorita, señora makes me feel kind of old and i'm still way too young!! and thanks for the suggestions i'm not so sure about mixing aguardiente to the masa tho and i also don't know how to make arepas! what a great colombian wife i am! may be some day you can teach me how to make a good arepa con huevo.

thanks gator, however it will be difficult for me to find mexican cheeses in the London area at this time of night as for the maizena i have plenty of boxes to make natilla and buñuelos there are some great colombian shops here in london. pero gracias por tu receta it's gonna help me a lot! all i need to do is find some good cheese
