Best Bet, IMHO... Take Flota Occidential to Medellin then Copetran to Santa Marta or
Flota Occidential to Bogotá then Brasilia to Santa Marta. This is a LONGGGGGGGGGGGGG trip. Why not fly? If you find a "good" way to get to Barranquilla it's only a short hop to Santa Marta with lots of local buses
"Brevior Sltare Cum Deformibus Mulieribus Est Vita!" .

That is a long trip. I was contemplating going going the bus route from Cali but I changed my mind. I am flying into Cartagena and then traveling up the coast to Barranquilla and Santa Marta.

I will be going to Medellin and Bogota but by bus from Cali only 8 or hours and I could take the night bus.

If you do decide to bus it. Consider going in steps, like stopping in Bogota and checking out a few places and then continuing on to the coast.

Pereira to Santa Marta Or you could take Flota Ospina van to Medellin (approx 28k 4 1/2 hrs), Bolivariano/Fronteras to Cartagena and then bus/buses along the coast to Santa Marta. Did this for Xmas but intend to fly from Medellin to coast in future as I have now seen all Jean Claude Van-Damme, Jackie Chan movies,(Medellin to coast trip).

LOL!!! "as I have now seen all Jean Claude Van-Damme, Jackie Chan movies,(Medellin to coast trip)." that is so true. What is up with that. How can someone suggest different movies? Would they allow you to bring a movie to play if the rest of the passengers are ok with it?
